PITTSBURGH, February 28, 2026 — Coral reef monitoring just took another step forward with the release of ReeflyticsAI v1.0, the first stable public version of the artificial intelligence tool built to detect coral bleaching from underwater imagery.

Built to support marine biologists and conservation activists, ReeflyticsAI uses a lightweight YOLO v8 computer vision model to analyze images and identify bleaching with speed and precision. The v1.0 release supports .jpg, .jpeg, and .png image formats, allowing users to upload images for automated analysis.

This stable release marks an important milestone in months of backend development, model training, and testing.
